Intensive Summer Course ( 5 weeks)
The course content is designed around the National Standards for Foreign Language Learning, and it incorporates the 5Cs, namely, Communication, Cultures, Connections, Comparisons, and Communities to enable students, in their process of becoming lifelong learners, to develop insight into the nature of the language and the culture of the Zulu people as well as the ability to use the language in appropriate contexts.
Students will attain Intermediate-Low Level speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills on the ACTFL scale. The speaking skill will be strengthened through a combination of spontaneous conversations and discussions of the readings. Reading and listening input will be the basis for developing writing and speaking skills.
