Students attain Intermediate-Low Level speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills on the ACTFL scale.  ​
The course content is designed around the National Standards for Foreign Language Learning, and it incorporates the 5Cs, namely, Communication, Cultures, Connections, Comparisons, and Communities to enable students, in their process of becoming lifelong learners, to develop insight into the nature of the language and the culture of the Zulu people of South Africa as well as the ability to use the language in appropriate contexts.

Africa Centered Kids Summer Camp



Kids K - 8 Camps Available
In-person and Online.

Sessions:

3 weeks
5 weeks

Kids will learn an African Language, Read Africa/African American Books/Short Stories, learn about important Historical African and African american figures, learn important Africa and African American Folktales which build character, learn African songs and dance, learn board games from Ghana and South Africa, get a taste of Africa through food, Study the African map and the African people with a focuc on Sub Saharan Africa (west and southern),  learn about the indigenous people of South Africa, learn to weave an African place mat, and more. All activities, instruction materials and delivery, readings etc. will be age approriate. In person camps will visit an African American Museum. At the end of the program, each child will receive a gift at the end of the program, and will be assigned a pen-pal who is in their age group from South Africa that they can choose to reach out to should they desire.
